Drifter Coffee NZ is slinging only the finest coffee made with Raglan Roast beans, iced tea, and much more all over the Hibiscus Coast. Staying on the move and offering only the best stuff with yarns for days.
After finding the perfect truck, we opened our window for the first time in January of 2018.
In our first season we got involved with the Orewa Surf Life Saving Club, serving coffee each Sunday morning. We also had the opportunity to be a part of Oceans 2018, an event which saw surf clubs from all around New Zealand competing, and coming to us for a fresh cup of Raglan Roast! In March we set up shop at the Whangamata Beach hop, slinging coffee for 3 days. On top of these larger events, we have gotten involved with local gatherings and functions such as birthday parties, corporate events, markets and weddings.
We have a sister truck in Detroit Michigan, which Alleah Webb has been running since 2015. Their brick and mortar location is opening this December, which is a goal we also have in the future.
We operate with Mother Nature in mind! Our cups, lids, and straws are recyclable or compostable. In addition, all our coffee grounds and food scraps are composted, and our waste water is deposited back to the earth. (Plus, our Rhode Island Red chickens love leftovers!)
We provide a discount to customers who help us reduce waste. Bring your own reuseable cup to the truck and save on your drink.
We are always looking for ways to operate more sustainably, to create a better future for the generations to come. This season at the Orewa Surf Life Saving Club, we plan to get people to fill buckets of rubbish from the beach in exchange for coffee. Everyone is winning, including the planet!
